PAIR. Percutaneous Treatment of Hepatic Hydatid Cyst: A Case Report

Cystic Hydatidosis is a zoonosis caused by the Echinococcus Granulosus. The most affected solid organ liver (70% -80%). best treatment, surgery, percutaneous drainage or medical treatment (albendazole) has not yet been defined, and in all cases, individuality of each patient (age, comorbidities, size location cyst) must be taken into account. In 1985, QHH puncture was published as therapeutic option. Since then, PAIR (puncture, aspiration, instillation scolicide re-aspiration) established itself valid treatment. A 24-year-old woman with diagnosis CHH (Vol: 90 cc), Garbhi,s type 2, located segment VIII liver, closely related to Vena Cava, middle left suprahepatic heart. Medical for 6 weeks albendazole, cyst. Percutaneous placed, 60 cc serohematic fluid remains hydatides are aspirated, 20 97% alcohol instilled, catheter closed, which after 1 hour completely re-aspirated. removed 48 hours tomographic control where visualized without evidence collection. Conclusion: can useful patients complex HCH high surgical risk. short follow-up does allow long-term conclusions, but it allowed us document this successfully resolved case little morbidity.
